SUMMARY:Jews and Christians Read the Bible
LOCATION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:10 East 66th Street in Manhattan
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:=0D=0A=
Both Jews and Christians believe that the Bible is a holy text. It was through the Bible—the text they have in common—that the two religions have often communicated their differences, especially during the early centuries of Christianity. Study texts and stories from the Bible that incorporate a controversial theology for both Jews and Christians. These include stories of the forefathers, the Exodus from Egypt, the giving of the Torah, and parts of the Song of Songs, Psalms, and Isaiah. Discuss the theological implications revealed in each religion’s reading of these key texts.=0D=0A=
